Xen Ruiz (Barcelona, ES) is a self-thaught painter currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. Xen explores the tension between the theatrical and the everyday, mixing these two seemingly opposite worlds: the simplicity of the ordinary versus the drama and the absurd, thus enveloping the viewer in a nostalgic atmosphere that feels both distant and familiar. Through a melancholic, humorous and sometimes provocative imaginary world, Xen intends to invite the viewer to reflect on themes such as the passage of time, identity, love and loneliness; to get lost in the game of a search for answers that may never be revealed.
